About the Catholic Church?
Take a look at the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process by which the Catholic Church welcomes new members into its communal life. RCIA is a living experience of the Church, and not just a series of classes that teach knowledge about the Church. Although there is instruction in the facts of the faith, instruction is but one part of a larger experience of knowing and sharing with other members of the Church. There is also an RCIA process for teens and children. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Fr. Kurt, the the Parish Office or call Linda O'Connor at 630-257-2414. Watch the bulletins for further details.
What is SPRED?
SPRED is a unique program of religious education/faith development for children, teenagers, young adults, and adults with mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and those with learning problems. It is not a typical religious education program but one of growing in faith within a small group. It is an opportunity for people to come together to grow in friendships and see their lives as meaningful by becoming more aware of God's presence. Parents are most welcomed no matter the age or abilities of their child. We are also looking for interested men and women who would like to volunteer. Please see the bulletin or call the Parish Office for more information. Volunteers need no experience with special needs people just a willingness to become someone's friend and to grow in faith together. Training is provided.
Religious Ed Open Houses
Our Religious Education program will be hosting an Open House in the Fall. During the last twenty minutes of class, parents are encouraged to visit their child’s classroom to meet their catechists and classmates. Come see what your children have been learning so far this year. Please check back for further details as they become available.
First Reconciliation Parent Meeting
This meeting is for parents of children in the school and Religious Education program. It should last approximately one hour. If you are unable to attend, please call Linda in the Religious Education office. Please check back for further details as they become available.
Parking Lot – Can You Help For Fifteen Minutes a Week?
We are in need of a couple of people to help direct students and traffic in the parking lot after class on Wednesday evening. This volunteer service is a commitment of 15 minutes per week. If you can help us keep our students safe, please call Linda in the Religious Education Office.
